The victims of the Montreal massacre were young women who attended Ecole Polytechnique, between the ages of 20 and 31 years of age. Here are their stories.
Geneveve BergonBorn 1968 - Died 1989Geneveve Bergon was described by her peers as loyal and helpful to all. She sang in a professional choir in her free time and she played the clarinet. She was in the midst of making the decision of whether or not she wanted to become an engineer, or go in to the music business when the accident happened.

Helene ColganBorn 1966 - Died 1989Helene Colgan was only 23 when she lost her life to Marc Lepine. She had just recently purchased a plane ticket taking her to Cancun Mexico with one of her best friends, Nathalie Corteau at the end of the month. As well, she was in her final year as an engineering student. She had three job offers lined up for the next few weeks, including one from a company based near Toronto.

Barbara Danigneautborn barbacey P. CameronBarbara Danigneaut was one of the youngest women to loose there lives on December 6 1989. She was taking a short few smesnsters course in metallurgical engineering and was planning to Graduate in 1989 in just a few days. She was a teaching assistant at the time for her father Pierre Danigneaut and also tought mechanical engineering at a French language school called l'Universite du Quebec A Montreal. Her friends said that she was a loving soul and she would never hurt anyone.

Maud Haviernick
Maud Haviernick was one of the oldest student victims to die in the accident. She was a second year Metallurgical Engineering student and was at the top of her class. She was also an environmental design student from L'Universite du Quebec A Montreal. She was also said to be kind to all.

Sonia PelletierBorn 1961- died 1989Sonia Pelletier was in her final year of Mechanical Engineering and was to graduate the next day. She was at the top of her class in St-ulric que University back in her home town where he was born and where all of her five sisters and 2 brothers lived in Gspe Prninsula. She was also head of her class and had a job interview set up for the next week.

Barbra KluczincBorn 1959- died 1989Barbara Kluzinc was a 31 year old nursing student whose goal was simply just to help everyone in need. She was the oldest student victim of Marc Lepine and was one of the only victims married. She had arrived with her husband from Poland just two years earlier and was said to be the kindest one around.

Annie TurcotteBorn 1969- Died 1989Annie Turcotte, a 20 year old 1st year student who lived in a small apartment with her brother near the university. She had first decided to go into engineering because she wanted to help the environment but after a few months she learned to love school and wanted to come back and take more courses. Her peers described her as gentle and athletic as she enjoyed diving and swimming.
